The Bolger Foundation’s Year in Review: Growth & Evolution

As 2025 draws to a close, The Bolger Foundation has much for which to be thankful; much upon which to reflect; and much to which to look forward in 2026.

The Bolger Foundation’s funding requests increased significantly throughout this year’s Spring and Fall funding cycles, with a grand total of more than 1300 applications from an impressive gamut of 501(c)(3) nonprofits accepted for consideration. Altogether, between challenge grants whose challenges were met plus outright gifts, The Bolger Foundation gave away $2.9 million in 2025. Furthermore, the Fall grant cycle still has more than $1 million in challenge grants yet to be met.. Watch for a full list of funded entities to appear  early in the new year on our Current Projects page.

Once we replied to all of our grant applicants, we turned our attention to revamping and streamlining The Bolger Foundation’s online grant application process. It’s now even easier for would-be grantees to apply for funding, while procedures have been simplified at our end as well.

There is so much need in today’s world, even in our relatively prosperous country — and as our hundreds of grant applications vividly demonstrate, there are so many worthy nonprofit organizations doing their best to meet those needs. It is The Bolger Foundation’s mission to make a tangible difference in our chosen fields of focus: community; conservation and preservation; education; health, including mental health; and those underprivileged and/or underserved.

“2025 was an amazing year of growth for The Bolger Foundation, with applications received from all over the United States,” said foundation President JT Bolger.. “The trustees and I were blown away by the various charities and the impacts they are having on their communities.

“This growth in applications led to The Bolger Foundation’s growth as an organization,” he continued. “As we continue our philanthropic mission, we grow and evolve and refine our mission and its parameters. It has truly been an exciting year, and we look forward to 2026.”

Whatever your role in philanthropy may be, all of us at The Bolger Foundation thank you for your support this past year and wish you the very best in the coming new year!
